MICRA Researcher Hayley James’ Briefing Note on Auto Enrolment into Workplace Pensions

MICRA’s Hayley James has written a briefing note on the Pensions Policy Institute’s (PPI’s) PhD Briefing Note Series.
Hayley’s thesis looks at the impact of automatic enrolment into workplace pensions on individual decision-making, based on qualitative research methodology. The study, which forms collaboration between MICRA and the PPI, is funded by the ESRC.
The briefing note details key findings, regarding auto-enrolment into workplace pensions from case studies conducted in Italy, New Zealand and the USA. Her research mines this data, in order to determine what may be learned for the future of auto-enrolment in the UK, which has been phased in since October 2012.
