Skin ageing

Close up of a woman's face

The ageing of our skin is one of the most outwardly apparent manifestations of the ageing process.  Our skin ages in two distinct ways.  The first process occurs naturally with the passage of time, and results in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and the occasional exaggerated expression line. The second process of skin ageing occurs in response to our environment.

As an outward indicator of ageing, the ageing of our skin can have profound psychological effects.  Within MICRA we support research not only into the biological mechanisms of this process, but also its impact upon our psyche and wellbeing.
