MICRA’s twitter account reached a milestone this week as we passed 2000 followers.

6 March 2017

Twitter is an online news and social media service where users post and interact with messages called ‘tweets’ which are restricted to 140 characters.

Since launching the @MICRA_Ageing account in 2011, it has been a very effective platform for communicating with our members, supporters and others. Our followers include students, academics, practitioners and people working in the media with an interest in ageing.

We regularly post about latest news and thinking in the field of ageing research from our researchers at the University of Manchester. We also tweet details regarding events at MICRA and our partner organisations, including ‘live-tweets’ telling our followers about what’s going on during events.

This milestone is testament to the relevance of MICRA’s work, and it’s great to see so many people engaging with us. Big thanks to all our followers.
