Project to Evaluate ‘Open Visiting’ in Trafford General Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary

7 July 2016

The introduction of open visiting on the Stroke ward at Trafford General Hospital has been positively received by staff, families, carers and patients. We are now looking at introducing it across elderly care wards in Manchester Royal infirmary and more wards in Trafford.

Open Visiting is based on improving patient and family centred care and we want to evaluate it in a way that we understand the impact on patients, relatives and carers experience and to see if there are additional benefits not previously reported.

We are looking for anyone who has been an in-patient or is a relative or carer that will be able to attend only 2-3 meetings over the next year to help shape the project and be on the advisory group

If  you would like to be involved in this project please contact Dr Helen Hurst: Project Lead and CLARHC research fellow helen.hurst@cmft.nhs.uk or Tel 0161 276 4212 (message can be left if not available)
