Organisations sought for research on responding to an ageing workforce in Greater Manchester from the Alliance Manchester Business School

20 April 2017

The Alliance Manchester Business School are currently undertaking research on developing 'good' work in Greater Manchester in response to an ageing workforce with funding from Lord Alliance.

This research will consider how employers in the region are responding to this challenge, for example, by adapting jobs including flexible working arrangements and job design, as well as the barriers that employers are facing in doing so.

The researchers would like to talk to employers of any size and from any sector in Greater Manchester, particularly those in the in digital/tech or creative/media industries (where older workers may be absent), food manufacturing and construction (where ill-health may become an issue) and of course retail and social care (where flexible working may be more possible). This will involve an initial conversation of around half an hour, either face-to-face at a preferred location or on the telephone, to explore mutual interests relating to the research.
