University of Manchester Research team find potential treatment option for Alzheimer’s disease

A team led by Dr David Brough from The University of Manchester has shown that an experimental model of Alzheimer’s disease can be successfully treated with a commonly used anti-inflammatory drug.

The research project found that the anti-inflammatory drug completely reversed memory loss and brain inflammation in mice.

The findings were published last week in a paper authored by Dr Brough and colleagues, in the respected journal Nature Communications.
