MICRA appoints new Institute Manager

3 May 2017

Dr Michael Leverentz will be joining MICRA as Institute Manager from June 2017.

MICRA has recently appointed a new Institute Manager for the period while current manager, Jo Garsden, undertakes a one-year secondment to the Greater Manchester Ageing Hub.

Mike currently serves as Project Manager for the Manchester Regenerative Medicine Network (MaRMN), where he has been instrumental in the establishment of the network. Within this capacity Mike has brought together Manchester’s interdisciplinary Regenerative Medicine strengths, from across the faculties of Sciences and Engineering and Biology, Medicine and Health, whilst establishing extensive links across the three major GM-NHS trusts, in order to foster the translation of basic Regenerative Medicine research into viable clinical therapies.

Mike has a PhD in Biochemistry, coupled with extensive research and management experience from across the University and the private sector. We look forward to welcoming Mike in his new role, and also to working closely with Jo in her new capacity at the GM Ageing Hub.
